Voracious Vikings!
This half term, the children have been learning all about Vikings and what an exciting half term it has been!
In English, we have been exploring the text, How to Train your Dragon by Cressida Cowell. The children have really enjoyed exploring the text and have written some brilliant character descriptions!
This half term, the children have also been learning the ukulele with Mrs Taylor. The children have been so interested in learning the chords and have started to put these together to play songs!
We really enjoyed our trip to Bishops Wood where the children became Vikings for the day. They travelled across the North Sea on a longboat, claimed an Anglo Saxon house, made copper broaches, turned wool into yarn and made a clay pot before working as a team to make a shelter out of logs. To end the day, the Viking guide created a fire out of a piece of flint and straw to the children's amazement!
