Summer 1

This half term we have been asking ourselves "Where Will You Go?"

We have been talking all about road safety, how to protect our local environment, looking at seasonal changes and we began to explore similarities and differences between our country and others.

The book we have been reading is called We're Going On A Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen

"This is my favourite story, I love the swishy swashy grass" IS

As part of our learning about other countries, we tried to match the bear to the country where it lived. To do this we had to use big maps and special books called 'atlases'.

We have really enjoyed going on a bear hunt in Forest School and also making our very own bear caves...

We have been learning a couple of songs in music The Bear Hunt Song 🐻 Starring Matt from Dream English 🐻 Brain Breaks Songs by The Learning Station - YouTube and Michael Rosen performs We're Going on a Bear Hunt - YouTube

In Gymnastics we have been using the climbing apparatus to help us with our grip, balance, control and co-ordination. We have really enjoyed using the equipment safely and we are so proud of ourselves for being so brave too!

We were really lucky to have had a visit from our local dentist (Thank you to AR's Mum for helping us). This was a part of our learning about healthy living and diversity where we were learning how to stay healthy and how we are all different. We really enjoyed our dentist talk and have all been brushing our teeth very well smiley

As part of the diversity theme, we learnt about a man called Ade Adepitan. Some of us recognised him from the TV. We watched how he played basketball despite being a wheelchair user and tried to learn some of the skills he had using chairs from the classroom. "It was really hard not to use my legs but I found it fun" JM

We really have had a very busy half term full of learning and fun, here are some pictures of our work. We hope you like them...
